The smiling Buddha, with his good tidings and cheerful news has long been a symbol of great happiness. The ingot that Buddha sits upon is symbolic of  abundance and fulfilled dreams, the greater the ingot the greater the dreams.
A Buddha figure will add an atmosphere of contentment and serenity to any home, whilst his cheerful disposition reminds us not to work too hard or become too greedy.

It is also traditional to light a candle on his birthday, (the 8th May) and you may then ask him to grant a special request of your choice!

One last point to remember is never to place a Buddha on the floor as this is disrespectful. It is said that by placing him in a raised position he will be able to bestow you with the strength to help beat day-to-day stress. (So, about 10 per room should do the trick!!)
