A few weeks back I was askinging for a name suggestions for the new warehouse. First time round almost every suggestion involved a phoenix, which while apt (since we are just recovering from a fire) to me seemed a bit corny. Also puts me in mind of those dodgy companies that go bust and start again, and use the word in their new name. The second batch of suggestions is much more imaginative. Some really clever, thought provoking, cultured and inspired suggestions. I'm going to compile a shortlist of the best.. and then we will vote at AW. But it's too early to adopt a name for our building yet.. simple because it is not quite ours yet. And there is a potential problem.

If you have been following the story you will know that, the people who own the building now didn't want to rent, they wanted to sell. And the price (several million) was really outside our power. So the solution was to an investment fund to buy it and rent it back to us. Someone who was happy with the building and happy with AW being in it. This was the first task..and miraculously we managed it.  Now as you know buying a big building takes some time maybe months. And that was time we simply didn't have, because of the massive flow of incoming stock with no-where to put it, Christmas and a big backlog of orders. So the next hurdle was to persuade the current owner to let us use the place under license, paying a monthly rent. 

On the 18th of September we finally managed this and got a set of keys. What a relieve it has been, but also a massive task..  stock coming from storage, a backlog of containers and all the stock from the other warehouse.. There is 96,000 square feet, but as yet no racking, but no problem we can just put pallets on the floor.
