Yes, I'm back in the UK at AW HQ.. ready to deal with Brexit Day..
"Do or Die!" and "I'd rather be Dead in a Ditch" and "Come Hell or High-water we will be out of Europe on the 31st of October".
So (like the gullible fool that I am) taking Boris at his word, I arranged my scheduled to be here. And... well... of course, erhum.. now it's kinda obvious it ain't happening. I learned one thing.. don't be fooled by all that over confidence bluster. The more ASSERTIVE and BOMBASTIC the statement - the more you should question it's validity..
Last week I was in India with Tomas - learning the same. I was telling you about the fake glamour of an Indian trade show (complete with lots of BS), and the Real India of Old Delhi, complete with rickshaws, back street go-downs and holy cows where the people are more genuine and deals can be done with-out the BS.. you can read about it here.
Since then we flew to a monsoon lashed Goa for a few days then to Mumbai - then to Paris, changed for Manchester and then the beautiful drive over the Woodhead pass to sunny Sheffield.
As we left India the festival of Diwali was just kicking off - the festival of lights - comes with tremendous good-will and waves of love. Doesn't matter if you are Muslim or Christian or Hindu.. everyone participates in the festivities. It's definitely the feel good festival of India with lashing of smiles and love all round. As we came in to land over Mumbai, the city twinkled with Diwali lights and fireworks like a magic kingdom. in the airport everyone is celebrating dressed in their finest clothes as if for a wedding. We need to get from the domestic terminal to the international and the best way is to take a local taxi.. A dodgy looking guy in an ancient cab lashes our cases to the roof and we head out into a total party zone, honky traffic and happy people.. our taxi guy once underway, suddenly for no apparent reason begins to sing loudly - grinning when we clap, and doing a pretty good rendition of - I guess Diwali related songs complete with sweeping arm movements. He didn't stop until we reached T2 international. Of course he got a big tip and we took pictures and wished him "Happy Diwali".
India is like that, full of extraordinary people.India is great, but it's totally amazing to be back at the Heart of AW with the amazing team that devote themselves earnestly to bringing you the best in giftware.. Everyone is working extraordinarily hard. No BS here just genuine enthusiasm for the products and giving the service. But that doesn't mean we cannot have fun at the same time.. Thursday was not only No-Brexit Day but also Halloween, and we have a highly competitive dressing up situation. This year quite a few people up their game and went all out to win the Halloween Costume Competition.. You the customers get to vote..

Anyway .. it's now November, the clocks have gone back, Bonfire Night is upon us, Black Friday is approaching.. it's serious shopping time.. The CHRISTMAS season is officially launched.
