So Emotional

Greetings from Spain
I'm actually on the way to the airport now. Last few jobs to do from the Malaga office then onwards to Jakarta.
I seem to have been saying goodbye to friends and the team for the last few days..
This morning I awoke to a beautiful sunrise, and realised that as excited as I feel to be traveling to asia finally.. I'm also sad to leave my home in Spain.
Very mixed emotions.. sad at leaving, excited at a new adventure, apprehensive about the journey... I don't know why I'm feeling so emotional..
If all goes well.. I will fly from Malaga (KLM) to Amsterdam then change for the night flight to Singapore. I won't be allowed to leave the plane in Singapore, we drop off and pick up passengers.. then onward to Jakarta.
Then I will have to undergo a PCR in the airport and will be taken to a quarantine hotel for seven nights. After that I will be free to travel to Bali.

This week has been very busy on many fronts - it's all go.. and in the UK, fuel shortages, facebook deleting itself and panic buying everywhere.
Last week I was telling you it was Rodrigo's 7th birthday.. it's true..(seven years at AW) this week he tells me he is running in the Manchester Marathon.. to raise funds for Weston Park Cancer Hospital in Sheffield. I'm sure you will wish him well.

Well it's only weeks to Halloween.. which always seems to kick start the Christmas season.. the clocks will go back, the mornings are darker - it's time to plan for Christmas.

We have lots of amazing deals - candles - could be in short supply if the lights go out (and I think it could happen). We are doing our best to secure good supplies, but it's not easy.
Talking to Coco in China this morning.. our candle factory there is facing electric shortages and soywax increased in price 25% this week with more increases warned.

There is always a reason for a party at the AW Artisan office in Spain. And today as well as me leaving for Asia, it was also the leaving day of one of our founding members, Luis has been our warehouse manager since day one in Spain.
But after lots of heartache and emotionals discusions he has decided it is time to move on.. I believe he planning to start a business. Over a spread of very sweet snacks everyone made emotional speaches and we said our goodbyes to Luis. I told him that we wish he all the best and whatever happens he will always be a member of the AW family.
