Let me tell you, Spain is sizzling hot right now! My house is perched on a hill with a view of the Mediterranean. Normally, the sea breeze keeps things cool, and I've never been a fan of air conditioning. I mean, who needs it when you can just open the windows and let that sea breeze work its magic? So, no AC for me, ever! But, guess what? This summer is putting me to the test! I'm sweating buckets, more than I ever did in India or Indonesia. The nights are so steamy I might as well sleep in a sauna. To cool off, I've practically turned into a fish in my pool!

But guess what? I chatted with Coco this morning in China, and she's dealing with an even bigger hot mess! Seriously, what in the world is going on? We've got our own little global warming party here! And you know what's even crazier? I had a court date in Spain recently, and let me tell you, Spanish law operates on a different time zone altogether! No speedy resolutions here, folks. More below..

Now, here's the juicy bit: I wasn't supposed to be in Spain this week. I really need to be elsewhere, but a stupid legal dispute dragged me back here. I totally wasted a day in court. Because zero, nada, nothing happened. For reasons totally beyond me the whole shebang got delayed until.. July 2024! I wanted to write about it here mentioning no names of course.. So I wrote a really funny upbeat newsletter describing the whole ridiculous thing. After writing it - I felt so much better!!. It's good to get things off your chest as they say.. I sent that newsletter to my team yesterday... and...

They won't let me tell you.. "Nooooo.. David don't say that.." and "Customers are not interested" and "It's hilarious, it's true but don't say it". Blar blar blar.. So sorry folks we just have to move on.(I do listen to my team). They are right, I suppose, we have bigger fish to fry, and we sure don't need that mess adding to the heatwave. We have to see the bigger picture, right?

So enough of my rant! My sweet grandfather from Yorkshire always said, "If you ain't got anything nice to say about someone, just say nowt!" Wise words, indeed. He also used to joke, "In this world, there's only me and thee that are sane, and I'm not so sure about you!" Haha, makes me smile every time! So, despite all the crazy fudged-up people in this world, let's try to see the best in 'em. It might just cool us down a bit!

It's so hot in Spain we are changing the working hours, starting early morning to avoid the afternoon heat. It's a good idea. In Bali, Ringo and his team always load containers at night because it's cooler. One of those containers arrived in Spain a few days ago, and the team almost wilted away in the heat unloading it. Everyone from the office came to help the warehouse team to ease the load. What amazing AW hero's we have here.. So this afternoon work we are having a beach party with MFT (My favourite team in Spain).. They have done a fantastic job this year so the least I can do is take them out for a party.
