Greetings from Old Town Rhodes, Greece.

Last week I was telling you about the importance of Knowing Your Wholesaler (KYW) and was in the UK at AW HQ..
You can read about it here.
Since then a lot has happened! I'm supposed to be on holiday..

It's a long time since I last went to a Slovakian wedding..  my wife (that's Coco - also our China agent) flew from the UK to Slovakia.
In the town of Trnava (where AW has it's main EU distribution warehouse) a wedding was taking place between Lenka & Paul.
Paul from Sheffield and Lenka from Trnava. At the wedding were a goodly number of AW people, the links between AW and Trnava go back a long way. Tomas (now our marketing director)  original ventured to Sheffield and over the years family and friends followed him, many working with AW.. The wedding was an eclectic mix of Yorkshire folk and Slovakian folk with some extra more international guests tossed in for seasoning. There was traditional folk dancing with an axe ceremony involving the bride and groom, when the words of the song were translated I was quite shocked..politically incorrect doesn't come close.. but this is real culture.. Then the plate smashing, the bride is given a dustpan and the groom a brush to sweep up the pieces. The friends of the couple make the job as hard as possible to much merriment. What is the symbolism? I asked. It's like your going to have problems, you are going to have to work together to fix them, and sometimes your friends are not going to help...  don't you just love wedding traditions.
Anyway, I'm sure you will wish Lenka (from customer service at AW UK) and Paul all the best - I was a lovely lovely day.

Tomas is also supposed to be on holiday, so we drove together with a group of friends that had been at the wedding to the City of Budapest in Hungary. Three days in Budapest, I won't bore you with holiday stuff, but what a grand city - buildings to rival Rome, beautiful parks and gardens and the majestic Danube. If you have never been go, it's a great city break. From here, (Coco and I) took a Wizz air flight down to the Greek island of Rhodes.. I'm writing this before heading out to explore the gift shops of Rhodes.. haha.. actually we might check out the sites and culture also.  Seriously though, I also always like to check how many AW customers there are in a place.. (12 in Budapest) - here there are 10, maybe we'll just call by and say hello.

It's the Longest Day! 21st of June.. The Midsummer solstice is on the 24th - A very Ancient Wisdom kind of a day, so watch out for our Mid-summer madness deals below.
I'm a bit confused, it's the start of summer, and also mid-summer, depending which website you look at.. anyway greetings and blessings to hippies and druids everywhere.
All around the world, the midsummer solstice is celebrated much like the Slovakian plate smashing and axe ceremony - in mysterious ways.  We will also celebrate with some AW Solstice Special Deals :)

Have a wonderful time, but now I'm supposed to be on holiday :)
In the last 7 days since the last newsletter - we have been in 4 countries. UK, Slovakia, Hungary and Greece. Time to chill..

More news next week..

Take care
