Secret Soup of Life

Greetings from Slovakia
I'm here at the EU distribution centre for AW in Trnava near Bratislava. AWGifts.eu.
Last week I was telling you about why some guys are looking forward to Brexit when it finally happens, you can read about it here.
So I have been working with Tomas and Raul on some exciting new projects and new EU websites. It all seems to be going well.
In Slovakia it's really getting quite hectic, yesterday was our busiest so far, but we are still discovering what our customers want.. so exciting time.
#TRNAVA
In the center of the town are some big letters.. with art painted onto them.. each year they change allowing local artists to show off their styles.. A great way to promote the town and its art. Everywhere should do it.
Head in hands drinking coffee guy (letter A).. Typical.. Slovakians are so serious..
I have been getting up extra early in the mornings. The culture here is that they start work early but also finish early.
It's actually really good, the working day seems to pass quickly and by 4.30pm all work is done. The other cultural thing I like is that employees get subsidised lunch food included in their package. It's great - lots of companies compete to provide the working lunch package, and deliver it to your desk, naturally, I'm joining in - and the food especially the Cabbage soup.. is delicious. The food is cheap and healthy here anyway, but after the subsidy - workers get a good quality hot lunch for less than €2..
The cabbage soup.. it's really sauerkraut with veg or meat in a tomato soup sometimes with sour cream dolapped on top. Every restaurant has their own special recipe and there is a lot of competition to be the best. I love that soup.. honestly I could live on it, and I'm sure it does my body good. sauerkraut a superfood after all. It is fermented food.. and if any food is the ancient wisdom of foods it's this.
Sauerkraut is thought to have originated in the north of China among the Mongols and was introduced in Europe by migrating tribes. Eastern Europeans, in particular, consume a large amount of sauerkraut. But more than this some evolutionary biologists have speculated that hunter gatherers may have fermented cabbage and other foods to preserve them for when other food was scarce. So our bodies could have evolved over thousands of years eating fermented foods.. so this is why it's good for us. I was reading this: Health benefits of Sauerkraut. Certainly, there are plenty of healthy looking people on the streets of Trnava - not so many overweight people as in the UK for sure, and now I know why.. it's in the Soup.
Meanwhile back in Sheffield, a China container is been delivered today.. so lots of great things back in stock.
We also have some cracking deals - a real May madness..
