Greetings from Spain 

Hope you are well and there is a spring in your step. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and together we are going to emerge blinking in the covid free sunlight of a new world.

Well hopefully.. 

Last week I was telling you about our big plans.. and how your creativity, positive thinking and AW can together change the world. How we can fight the whales & bully boy retailers and win. If you missed it the link is here.

For sure the first day of Spring this year is the 20th March.. Saturday.

Here in Spain, the flowers are just starting to bloom, bursting forth in a blaze of colours. In the evening the smell of night queen and jasmin in the garden is amazing. Wild garlic is growing with abandon in all the boarders - and on top of that the lockdown is being lifted. 

The wild garlic is just that.. wild.. we never planted it, or bought any.. a few years ago it just arrived, and now like a welcome weed it blooms to welcome the spring. It's everywhere.. it might be a weed but it's welcome, a pretty and useful weed.. you can cook with it.

From tonight for the first time the restaurants can open in the evenings. So there is an air of optimism.. but I'm leaving shortly..  My time here for now is almost done.. time to take a very rare flight back to the UK. 

Spring is here.. next stop is Easter. Next week even.. it's our western spring festival. Eggs, symbolic of new birth, the resurrection of Jesus, a symbol of hope. But all around the world Spring festivals express those feelings of hope and rebirth.

In India, at the first full moon of spring is the Holi festival.. but the festivals in very spiritual India have started already. Mr Chatterjee (our man in India) sent me pictures..

The Basanti Durga Puja is very famous in the Kolkata region. It is the Spring Durga Puja, the area is wild with the sound of conch shells and brightly lit pandals with extensively decorated idols of the Goddess and people wearing colourful attires and dancing to the beat of 'dhakis' lots of orange robes and flowers.. I have been there a few times at this time.. 

Mr Chatterjee tells very few cases of Covid in his area, people are still wearing masks but much more relaxed. 

 

So it's Spring, time to think big, think positive, get a shift on, get cracking (as we say in Yorkshire).

Last week I was telling you our Spring plans, and we had a huge feedback - thank you so much for all the thoughts and ideas. Lots of folk have registered at AW-Aromatic.com - even though it is still work in progress. We will be approving registrations as soon as there is something to see. But thank you all for your support and interest.
