Greetings from Sukawati Bali.

Last week (it was Valentines day) and I was telling you about my arrival here in Bali and the slightly odd journey from Kuala Lumpa. You can read about it here.
You can also discover the main reason I was in KL below..

It's been a really hectic week, every morning meeting Ringo (our man in Bali) for breakfast then heading out to meet various suppliers deal with issues and seek out new stock.
In the day it's stinking hot, and working in the heat drains energy, in the evening there are tropical storms, so a bit trapped in my hotel.. don't worry I'm really happy to be here - it's one of my favourite places whatever the weather.
In Bali (like India) there is always some festival kicking off, this week it is Galungan - a celebration of the gods coming to earth to fight - and beat - the evil king (some say the devil. So it is a celebration of good over evil.

The streets are lined with penjors - highly decorated bent over or bowing bamboo poles. Homes, businesses, temples all have to have at least one. And richer people can show off with more elaborate ones. Everyone is dressed in their sacred best, and the ladies looking particularly smart also balance offerings on the heads as they process to the gatherings. Everyone is so happy and seem to be having enormous fun.
It's caused us some disruption because many of our suppliers close for the ceremonies but Ringo calls ahead and suppliers are happy to meet us anyway. It's been interesting and an honour to be in the midst of family ceremonies.

The other big news is that AW in Bali have adopted a dog.. or I think the dog has actually adopted us. Ringo told me that a Japanese family sold up and moved out of a big villa. They had a number of dogs and dumped them one morning all along Jackfruit village where we have our warehouse.
One of them just settled in our warehouse yard like he'd been there forever.. As soon as we laid eyes on each other, I could tell he sensed I was the big boss, I stroked him and looked happy, he looked ecstatic and spend a good deal of time licking my toes..haha. So  I named him Happier  - after the song, because he is always super happy.

He seems so happy to just live in the yard, sleeps by the plants, is house trained and is so happy to greet us every morning when we arrive, we open the gates and there he is wagging that tail so much his whole body wags. Even better a local stray dogs charity call every morning with dog food. I told Ringo to tell them we would look after the food from here on in..  because we always happy to help :)

Meanwhile back in the UK, storm Denis has been lashing the country, but has not dampened the excitement over new stock arrivals. See below.. we are preparing for the summer already..
The other big news.. and this is HUGE, and I'm very Happy! And we hope your are even Happier!!- Finally after huge amount of effort by Raul and his team (in KL) the new AW Drop-shipping Site is officially launched. It's still in Beta mode but it works :)

Next week I will be going to India, to Kolkata, will catch up with our agent in India - Mr Chatterjee and meeting Tomas there.. so anything could happen..

Hope you have an amazing weekend, stay safe..
