Greetings from Bali.

Last week I was telling you about how magic happens in Bali.. if you missed it you can catch up here.

I was telling you Tomas and Raul arrived.. and we embarked on a new adventure.. one part of plan is we need beautiful offices for a team working from here..

Things can happen quickly here, you can get things done PDQ - I'm not sure why but a combination of high-trust, minimal bureaucracy and a young enthusiastic population means things just happen.

Last Saturday we went to look at a dream office location, by Thursday afternoon we found ourselves sitting in a Notary office in Denpasar exchanging contracts and after a trip to the bank to make a transfer we are the proud owner of a dream office on the beach complete with swimming pool. 

Actually we had an idea we would find an old house in Denpasar or some commercial offices in the business quarter.  But we spotted this advert for a beach bar, in Ketewel, the same village area as our warehouse. It's not really a tourist area, whoever built this place miss-judged the market because not far away are much better beaches with hundreds of bars and restaurants, here is just a windswept area with no facilities. There is (next door) a beach shack cafe popular with Japanese surfers, but that's it. The place is wild and remote even though it is only 20 minutes from Denpasar city.

Tomas has made a design plan already.. And today they are cleaning everything and taking out all the stuff we don't need. 

The Internet was ordered this morning and will be installed by Monday or Tuesday. It's amazing how quickly you can get things done here.

Now I'm sure you are asking yourself: What on earth are they playing at? Why do they need cool offices overlooking the sea in Bali? 

Stay tuned and soon I will tell you everything.. but what I can tell you now is this is something in the pipeline (maybe in 6 months) that you will use to take your online business to a whole new level without spending a fortune.

Cool offices we hope will attract the brightest and best of young Indonesian tech talent, that can be used to your advantage..

Meanwhile in between doing property deals we are of course doing giftware deals. One trending item right now are musical gifts for children, and Indonesia is a rich source.. We have been working hard on this and this morning ordered a good range I think you will love. As it happens this week two containers arrived, one with gemstone jewellery.. yes the power Bracelets are back in stock! And another container from Indonesia with lots of new beautiful items.. including some stunning tamarin wood and resin coffee tables. These come from a small artisan workshop, the right shaped blocks of wood are rare and production is very limited so it's not possible to stock quantity, but I was so taken with the beauty of them we bought whatever they can make.. which is just a dozen or so per month. I'm also excited to see the Lombok vases arrive, beautiful ceramics from the island next door to Bali.. great value and team perfectly with other products.. see below.
