Water Hyacinth Natural Placemat - Black Tiger with Fringe

They are artisan-made near Yogyakarta on Java, Indonesia. The AW team has visited the workshop and seen the weaving process first-hand.

The natural aroma belongs specifically to the pieces woven from vetiver roots. The seagrass and water-hyacinth designs are chosen for their colour, pattern and woven texture.

They are sold as placemats, coasters and table runners, not as certified heatproof trivets. Retailers should avoid making specific heat-resistance claims.
