Special Meditation Bowl Set

Start with a small selection covering accessible gift sets and one or two more decorative or premium designs rather than trying to stock every variation immediately. This gives customers a choice of price point while allowing you to see whether they respond more strongly to symbolism, size, sound or presentation.

No. Unlike a stringed instrument, a metal singing bowl has no tuning mechanism; its natural frequencies are determined largely by its shape, dimensions and material. The way it is played can change which tones and overtones are most noticeable, but the customer does not need to tune it before use.

Place the bowl on its cushion or a flat, open palm so the sides can vibrate freely. Gently strike just below the rim for an immediate tone, or move the stick steadily around the rim with light pressure to produce a sustained sound; rim playing usually takes a little more practice.

Generally, larger bowls tend to produce lower tones, but diameter is not the only factor. Wall thickness, shape, material and construction also affect pitch, sustain and overtones, so customers choosing by sound are best encouraged to hear the individual bowl where possible.

For routine care, remove dust and fingerprints with a clean, soft cloth and keep the bowl dry. Avoid frequent aggressive polishing, particularly on engraved or intentionally aged finishes, because metal polish is abrasive and repeated polishing can gradually remove surface detail.

They are better treated as identified or approximate pitches rather than laboratory-precise tuning. A singing bowl produces several resonant frequencies at once, and the sound heard can also vary according to how and where the bowl is struck or played around the rim.
