Are small pits, lines or uneven areas in a polished stone a fault? +

Not automatically. Tumbling smooths and polishes the surface, but it does not necessarily remove every natural inclusion, fracture or indentation. A stone with normal mineral features is acceptable; obvious fresh breaks, sharp damaged edges or significant chips should be treated differently.

Can all tumble stones be cleaned in the same way? +

No. Different gemstones react differently to water, heat, chemicals and ultrasonic cleaning, so one intensive cleaning method should not be recommended for the whole collection. A soft cloth is the safest general starting point; where suitable, gentle cleaning with mild soapy water is preferable to strong chemicals, steam or ultrasonic equipment.

Will the polished surface scratch or chip with everyday handling? +

It can. Hardness and toughness vary considerably between gemstones, so some stones tolerate knocks better than others. Customers carrying stones in a pocket or bag should ideally keep them away from keys, coins and harder objects if they want to preserve the polish.

Can I advertise specific healing benefits for the stones? +

Crystal associations can be described as spiritual traditions or personal beliefs, but medical or therapeutic effects should not be presented as proven facts.
