They can be used as handheld objects for meditation, crystal practices and personal rituals, as well as for display. Any cleansing, chakra or energy-related use should be presented as a spiritual practice rather than a scientifically demonstrated function.

It is better not to recommend it as a massage tool. Selenite is a relatively soft mineral and pointed designs can chip or become damaged under pressure, so these products are better suited to light handling, meditation and decorative use.

Use a soft, dry cloth or brush for routine cleaning. Store them separately from harder gemstones, jewellery and metal objects where possible, as selenite can scratch relatively easily.

Selenite has a Mohs hardness of around 2 and has pronounced cleavage, so knocks and drops can cause scratches, chips or splits. Pointed ends deserve particular care when displaying, handling or packing customer orders.
