Selenite is a glassy, crystallized form of gypsum and is sometimes also referred to as Satin Spar. Selentite crystal is relatively soft (when compared to some other crystals) and because of this it has been known to form in odd shapes. Most commonly, Selenite and sand form a Desert Rose.
Selenite is a wonderful display piece and looks great on its own. One of the wonderful things about Selenite is that when you display a piece on an LED stand for example, it really glows with the colour of the light (see below).
